- The terms and conditions set out below is the basis upon which Mirrors First Driving School offered training
1. Driving Licence:
- Pupil must hold a valid driving licence, provisional learner licence, full or international and produce it on your first driving lesson. You should always bring your licence with you on your lessons.
- Before having your first training session with your instructor, you must be able to read a vehicle number plate from the required distance. Your driving instructor will check that you can do so.
2. Fit to Drive:
- You must ensure that you meet the legal and medical requirements in order to drive.
- It is your responsibility to ensure that you are fit to drive whilst on your lessons and practical driving test. Tiredness, alcohol, sickness, illegal or prescribed drugs may affect your driving ability. If you are taking any form of medication, please check with your pharmacist or doctor to ensure they will not affect your driving.
- In regards to public safety, we reserve the right to cancel your training session or refuse the use of the school car for test purpose, if there is suspicion of drugs or alcohol that will affect your ability to drive.
3. Payments and Cancellations:
- Lesson fees are usually payable in advance – you can pay by cash, bank transfer or Pingit.
- To cancel a lesson, you must give 48 hours notice period for single lessons of up to 2 hours duration. Failure to give the correct notice will result in a claim for an equivalent amount in compensation (ie; cancellation fee).
- Your driving instructor will do their best to ensure that your lessons start and finish on schedule, but reserves the right to change lesson lengths, cancel, change start/finish times and postpone lessons under circumstances beyond their control (eg; weather conditions that are dangerous, school car broken down or illness). If your driving instructor postponed your lesson, fees paid in advance will be carried forward.
- Your instructor reserves the right to cancel a lesson at short notice if there is suspicion that you are not fit to drive due to drugs, alcohol or any condition that would make your handling of the car illegal or dangerous. Under those circumstances, the lesson fee will be payable.
4. Training Site:
- Your instructor will choose a suitable location for your driving lesson which ensures both your safety and public safety. In the early stage of your training, if you can’t drive the car to and from the training site, your instructor will have to drive the car to and from the training site until you can do it by yourself. This journey time forms part of your lesson as paid for.
